Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the LipidHelm mobile application and the lipidhelm.com website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Not medical advice, not a medical device

LipidHelm is a wellness diary. It records the lipid-panel results you type from your lab reports, estimates nutrition information about meals, and offers general educational information and AI-generated lifestyle suggestions. It is not a medical device: it does not measure anything, does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, does not estimate your cardiovascular risk, and is not a substitute for your laboratory or the advice of your physician, care team or other qualified professional.

In particular, and without exception: LipidHelm never advises on starting, stopping, changing or dosing any medication (statins included), never recommends a supplement, product or protocol as a treatment, never diagnoses a condition and never rates your risk — and nothing in the app, including any AI response, may be used to make treatment decisions. Do not start, stop or change medication or treatment based on the Service. The reference labels the app shows (for example "above goal" or "very high") follow standard guideline ranges and are informational; your goals are set with your care team. Nutrition numbers, the daily Lipid grade and the between-panel summaries are estimates derived from the data you logged, not clinical measurements, and a change in your numbers between two panels is shown alongside what you logged without any claim that one caused the other. If a lab result concerns you, follow your care team's instructions and, in an emergency, seek immediate medical care.

2. AI-generated content and estimates

Meal analyses — including the saturated, unsaturated and trans fat, fiber and cholesterol estimates — recipes and coaching messages are produced by artificial-intelligence models. They are estimates and can be wrong. Recipe filters (for example allergen avoidance or pregnancy-safe options) are applied on a best-effort basis by the AI — verify ingredients yourself whenever an allergy or a safety-critical restriction is involved. The AI coach is instructed to refuse medication, supplement, diagnosis and risk questions; if it ever fails to, that output is an error, is not advice, and must not be relied on. You are responsible for what you eat and for your health decisions.

3. Your account and cloud backup

Cloud backup requires an account identified by your email address (via a sign-in link, Sign in with Apple, or Google). You are responsible for the security of your email account and sign-in devices. One backup snapshot is kept per account; backing up replaces the previous snapshot, and restoring replaces the data on the device — both are permanent operations. You can delete your backup or your entire account from inside the app at any time.

4. Subscriptions

Some features require a paid LipidHelm Premium subscription (weekly, monthly or yearly). Logging your lab results and meals never requires a subscription. The exact price is always shown in the app before you buy.

• Billing: subscriptions are purchased through, and billed by, the Apple App Store or Google Play under your store account's terms. We never receive your payment details.
• Free trial: where a free trial is offered, its length is shown before you subscribe. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the store charges you.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by the store under its own policy — Apple and Google, not LipidHelm, decide refund requests for purchases they billed.
• Account deletion: deleting your LipidHelm account does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription is held by the store — cancel it there first (see the account deletion page).
• Price changes: if a price changes, the store notifies you and, where required, asks for your consent before the new price applies.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to abuse the Service — including attempting to disrupt it, circumventing rate limits, probing or attacking the servers, using automated tools to hammer AI endpoints, attempting to elicit medical, medication or supplement advice from the AI, or using the Service for anything unlawful. We may throttle, suspend or terminate access that harms the Service or other users.

6. Intellectual property

The LipidHelm name, logo, app and website are our property. Your data is yours: the lab results, meals, photos and other content you create remain yours, and you grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service (for example, transmitting a photo to an AI provider to analyze it at your request).

7. Availability and changes

LipidHelm is under active development. Features may change, be added or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times. AI features depend on third-party providers and may be interrupted by them. Do not rely on the Service's availability for anything health-critical — your laboratory and your care team are your primary tools. We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version, and continued use after changes means you accept them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LipidHelm and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, health outcomes, or health or dietary decisions made in reliance on the Service.
